Composting at MOM’s

Drop off your compost for free at all MOM’s stores!

Why

Compost?

Composting food scraps returns valuable nutrients to the soil, reduces the need for chemical fertilizers, and keeps usable material out of landfills. When organic waste sits in landfills, it generates large quantities of methane, a harmful greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change.

MOM’s Reusable bags

We accept:

All food waste including plastics that say “compostable” or “biodegradable”, MOM’s reusable bags, and any items from Naked Lunch (containers, cups, napkins, and utensils).

Please bring compost in a reusable bin (to dump loose) or in compostable bags. Plastic bags contaminate the waste stream and are not accepted.

What happens to the waste?

Our private haulers pick up your compost from our stores and turn it into nutrient-rich soil amendments! Learn more about our compost partners below.
